Chief Electrician Yachting
Chief Electrician Yachting
Function
Eekels | TBI is looking for a Chief Fitter for the project location Amsterdam, Monnickendam or Kaag for the business unit Yachting. As a Chief Electrician you help build a specific yacht. Using cable lists, overview drawings and electrical diagrams, cables are installed and systems are connected. We develop some of the more than 160 systems ourselves, including the main switchboards, lighting panels, Alarm Monitoring Control System and AV/IT systems. You also help commission these various systems that are installed on board. You test whether everything works properly and resolve any errors. The construction time of a yacht varies, but think of 1.5 to 3 years completion time. This has to do with the size of the yacht.
What is expected of you?
- Preparation of work to be carried out, such as making detailed plans and drawings and making changes and adjustments to existing documentation;
- Developing technical specifications or changes or consulting about these with the work planner and/or project manager;
- Installation of (parts of large) electrical (strong, weak current, control, measuring and regulation, security, alarm, signalling and other specialist) installations;
- Instructing and guiding employees;
- Preparing commissioning and performing tests;
- Checking work performed against assignment and planning;
- Performing various administrative and registration tasks;
- Maintaining contacts with customers and, if necessary, subcontractors;
- The permanent location is Monnickendam (or Amsterdam), but in the future placement at another location is also possible.
Environment
The Business Unit Yachting is one of the largest electrotechnical system integrators within the Dutch yacht building industry and is active at various shipyards such as Royal van Lent, Royal De Vries Scheepsbouw and Royal Hakvoort. As a system integrator, we are present from start to finish to install and connect the self-designed systems. This for the energy supply to the yacht control and all conceivable technological experiences on board.
