Function
Eekels | TBI is looking for a Yachting Electrician for its Amsterdam, Monnickendam, and Kaag locations. As an electrician, you'll help build a specific yacht. Using cable lists, general drawings, and electrical diagrams, cables will be installed and systems connected. You'll also participate in the commissioning of these various systems installed on board. You'll test everything for proper operation and resolve any errors. Yacht construction times vary, but typically take 1.5 to 3 years to complete. This depends on the yacht's size.
What is expected of you?
- Working on the installation and conversion of various electrical installations and instrumentation on board a yacht;
- Commissioning of complex electronic installations;
- Implementing technical changes (in consultation);
- Working in accordance with quality, health and safety, and environmental guidelines and regulations;
- The permanent location is Amsterdam, but placement at a different location is also possible in the future.
Environment
The Yachting Business Unit is one of the largest electrical system integrators in the Dutch yacht building industry and operates at various shipyards, including Royal van Lent, Royal De Vries Shipbuilding, and Royal Hakvoort. As a system integrator, we are present from start to finish, installing and connecting our custom-designed systems. This includes everything from energy supply to yacht steering and every conceivable technological experience on board.
Experience
Do you recognize yourself in this profile?
- Completed vocational education (mbo) level 3 in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent diploma;
- Demonstrable work experience as an electrician;
- Be able to read technical drawings and diagrams (e.g. via Autocad and E-plan);
- Able to work independently, but also able to work well in a team;
- Working safely and healthily is a given for you;
- Willing to travel.
