Senior Design & Proposal Engineer Marine & Offshore

Eekels | TBI is looking for a Senior Design & Proposal Engineer for the Business Unit Marine & Offshore for the Kolham and/or Gorinchem location. In this position, you will play a crucial role in the quotation process for electrical installations and systems for ships. You will also contribute to a wide range of projects within the dynamic maritime industry.

As a Senior Design & Proposal Engineer, you will be part of the Design & Proposal team and have a significant impact in the application phase. You will analyze the customer's needs and contribute to the development of functional concept designs, specifications, calculations and quotations based on system effectiveness and sustainability. Once an order is confirmed, you will ensure a seamless transition of the file to the project team.

What is expected of you?

• Technical force behind the sales team, which is responsible for commercial negotiations with the customer;
• Maintaining contacts and discussing requests with the customer in order to be able to offer the most suitable quotation;
• Translating customer requirements into a preliminary design, which forms the basis for implementing and compiling the technical specifications, budget and proposal to the customer;
• Playing a crucial, supporting role in the sale of complete installations and complex technical systems and products;
• Determine strategy, in consultation with the Manager Design & Proposal, to deliver on time and with the desired technical and content accuracy;
• Responsible for calculating a reliable cost price substantiated in a complete file;
• Selecting suppliers and subcontractors and maintaining contacts with internal suppliers;
• Initiating improvement proposals (process improvement, standard calculations, calculation tools), if necessary, that lead to a strengthening of Eekels' competitive position.

Do you recognize yourself in this profile?

• You have a higher professional education (hbo) work and intellectual level;
• Experience in electrical engineering or education in the field of electrical engineering is preferred;
• Experience in the field of energy transition is preferred;
• Experience with systems in the maritime sector is preferred;
• With over 5 years of experience as an engineer, you can work independently after a brief introduction period;
• A good spoken and written command of Dutch and English.
